The EasyDens is a digital density meter that uses the renowned oscillating U-tube principle for quick and reliable density measurement results. Based on that, it determines parameters like specific gravity, alcohol by volume (ABV), sugar content, and many more.
In contrast to more traditional methods (hydrometer, pycnometers...) the EasyDens promises highly precise and fast measurement results combined with very simple handling while using a minimal amount of a sample (2 mL).
How does the EasyDens measure density?
The EasyDens measures sample density via the oscillating U-tube method. A U-shaped glass tube (the measurement cell) is excited to oscillate at its characteristic frequency. The oscillation frequency is dependent on the density of the filled sample. Therefore, the density of your sample is determined by frequency analysis. You can also hear the vibration of the glass tube during measurement.
The following formula shows the correlation between the density of the sample and the corresponding oscillation period (τ).
A, B = Instrument constant
ρ = Density
τ = oscillation period
