In the Wine Meister mobile app, you will find two residual sugar calculators for white wines available under Tools. You can choose between a simple and an advanced calculation option. In both cases, it is important to know the total acid value and the original must weight.
For the simple calculator, the well known formula is used:
Residual sugar (g/L) = (Current must weight + Correction Factor) * 2
The correction factor is preset at 5, which is well-suited for most standard white wines. Example: The calculation with this correction factor is well suited for a wine with an original must weight of 80 °Oe and an acidity of 6 g/L. However, if you have a wine with a higher original must weight and a low acid content, the correction factor must be changed accordingly. The correction factor required for your wine can be found using this table [1]:
