To measure water in your honey download the Lab Meister app from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store.
It is really important to homogenize your sample before you perform your measurements:
To do this, stir your honey for at least 3 minutes so that all the ingredients mix well. If your honey has crystallized, heat it in a water bath at around 40 – 50 °C before homogenizing. After homogenizing, filter your honey through a 0.5 mm sieve.
To measure the water content:
- Navigate to Settings and select the Measurement Unit "water content in honey (% water)". If you are interested, you can also select the unit "Brix (°Bx)".
- Make sure your prism is well-cleaned.
- Apply your honey sample to the prism and start your measurement.
- Make sure there are no bubbles in the measurement area (bottom of the sample well). Air bubbles can influence and falsify your measurement result.
- Save your measurements in the logs and if you want you can also record a history of your samples.
