The unique EasyDens & SmartRef Beer combo allows you to determine the alcohol content of your finished beer directly with an accuracy of 0.5 % v/v.
Finished beer is a multicomponent sample, made up of many ingredients like water, alcohol, sugar, etc... Since sugar and alcohol have different influences on density, it is not possible to determine the alcohol content of beer using only density measurement. However, the combination of both measurement techniques (density and refractive index measurement) with the corresponding calculations [1] makes it possible to determine the ABV of your beer in seconds.
In the Brew Meister mobile app you can navigate in the section "Measure" to Measure ABV and start with the ABV measurement.
On the measurement screen the app also shows you results for original gravity and real extract.
Depending on the beer style you can choose between two preset formulas. One for standard beer and one for strong beer. You can switch between these calculations directly on the measurement screen or subsequently in the batch.
Standard beer: OG: 1.044 - 1.065
Strong beer: OG ≥ 1.065
After the ABV measurement, you can save the result directly to the desired batch, where it can be found in the "Recent ABV measurements" section.
