For the determination of ABV in wine an additional reference is needed.
How is this possible?
By measuring the original gravity (specific gravity before fermentation) and the final gravity (specific gravity during/after fermentation) it is possible to calculate the ABV of wine during fermentation. The Wine Meister app for EasyDens does all the necessary calculations (Learn more... ) for you and helps you to quickly get an estimation of the alcohol content during fermentation. If you want to know the approximate % ABV of your wine, please select Specific Gravity 20/20 as the measurement unit.
Please note that you cannot measure ABV of wine directly. (E.g. bottled wine sample). The knowledge of the original gravity is mandatory for these calculations.
