In the Brew Meister mobile app the values of specific gravity and °Plato readings are wort and alcohol corrected based on your Brix readings.
Wort Correction Factor (WCF)
Refractometer readings of wort are corrected to their actual value in °Plato and specific gravity (SG).
The default correction factor is preset at 1.03. However, you can change the WCF by yourself for each batch or globally in Settings. To improve the accuracy of your measurement results you can determine your own WCF for your special beer. According to the following equation, you can calculate the WCF:
WCF = °Brix(R)/°Brix(H)
°Brix (R) = Brix value measured with SmartRef
°Brix (H) = Brix value measured with EasyDens or a hydrometer
Alcohol Correction
Alcohol correction is automatically applied in the batch to all measured values saved after the original gravity (OG). You can choose between two correction formulas in the batch:
- Standard formula
- Sean Terrill formula
Additionally, you have the option to apply no alcohol correction to the values in the batch.
