Nihonshu-do, also known as Sake Meter Value (SMV), is the determination of dryness or sweetness of your Sake. The value is not temperature-compensated and only valid for samples at approx. 60 °F. Sweet Sake is represented by negative SMV levels, whereas dry Sake is represented by positive SMV levels.
The Wine Meister for EasyDens app uses °Plato to calculate the SMV parameter:
SMV = °Plato * (-5.55)
