With EasyDens, you are able to follow the fermentation process of your Kombucha. Since Kombucha contains several components such as sugar, alcohol, and acids, an exact measurement of the alcohol content with EasyDens is not possible.
The EasyDens measures sample density while not distinguishing between the different influences of the components in the fluid.
Several test series show that the ABV calculation applied for beer works for Kombucha too. By measuring the specific gravity before fermentation (original gravity) and the specific gravity during/after fermentation (final gravity) the estimated ABV can be calculated using the Hubert Hanghofer formula (Learn more…). Additionally, you can follow the sugar decrease during the Kombucha fermentation in °Brix over time to confirm that everything works well during fermentation.
The Brew Meister for EasyDens app is your ideal companion for Kombucha analysis.

The EasyDens & SmartRef Combo is able to determine the ABV of finished kombucha directly.
