While ISFET sensors are highly robust and versatile, some sample types are not suitable for reliable measurement:

Samples with very low ionic conductivity (e.g. distilled or deionized water)
These samples may produce unstable readings because they do not provide sufficient electrical conductivity. -
Strong organic solvents (e.g. acetone) and aggressive enzymatic cleaners (e.g. Mucasol)
These substances can damage the sensor surface and should be avoided. -
Samples with a high fouling tendency (e.g. protein-rich samples, fats, or suspensions)
Deposits on the sensor surface or diaphragm can reduce measurement accuracy and require more frequent cleaning. -
Samples outside the specified pH or temperature range
Measuring outside the instrument specifications may result in inaccurate readings or damage the sensor.
