The pH2Go offers three calibration modes to match different measurement needs. Choosing the right mode helps you achieve the best possible accuracy for your application.
Quick Calibration
Quick mode performs a single-point calibration.
For the most accurate results, calibrate with a buffer that is as close as possible to the expected pH of your sample. The closer the calibration point is to the sample pH, the more accurate your measurement will be.
Example:
If you mainly measure beer with a pH of around 4.5, calibrate using a pH 4 buffer.
Precise Calibration
Precise mode allows you to perform a 2-point, 3-point, or 5-point calibration, depending on the selected buffer set and your measurement range.
After you define the expected pH range of your samples, the Meister App automatically recommends the appropriate calibration procedure. For the highest accuracy, the calibration range should cover the pH range of your samples as closely as possible.
Examples:
- For samples between pH 4 and 6, perform a 2-point calibration with pH 4 and pH 7 buffers.
- If you regularly measure across a wide pH range, use a 3-point calibration with pH 4, 7, and 10, or a 5-point calibration with pH 2, 4, 7, 10, and 12.
Custom Calibration
Custom mode gives you full control over the calibration process.
You can freely choose a 1-point, 2-point, 3-point, or 5-point calibration, select the individual buffer values, and define the calibration sequence. Calibration can be performed in either ascending order (low to high pH) or descending order (high to low pH), allowing you to adapt the workflow to your application.
For the best results, perform the final calibration step with the buffer that is closest to the pH of your next sample.
Example:
- If your next sample has a pH of around 11, calibrate in ascending order (pH 4 → 7 → 10) so that the last buffer is closest to the sample.
- If your next sample has a pH of around 3, calibrate in descending order (pH 10 → 7 → 4) so that the final calibration point is pH 4.
