Video 1: Zero adjustment directly from the START screen
Video 2: Zero adjustment via the Settings menu
Your SmartRef can be adjusted in two different ways. Both methods perform the same zero adjustment, so you can simply choose whichever is more convenient for you.
Option 1: Zero adjustment directly from the START screen
Once your SmartRef is connected with the Meister app, tap the three-dot menu in the top right corner of the START screen. Select "Zero Adjustment" and follow the on-screen instructions.
Option 2: Zero adjustment via the Settings menu
You can also perform the zero adjustment by navigating to:
Settings → Manage My Devices → SmartRef → Actions: Zero Adjustment.
The app will then guide you through the complete adjustment procedure step by step.
For both methods, make sure the measuring prism is thoroughly cleaned before starting. Fill the sample well with fresh distilled or deionized water up to the rim and follow the instructions displayed in the app. Contamination on the prism or poor-quality reference water may affect the adjustment and lead to inaccurate measurement results.
When should I perform a zero adjustment?
A zero adjustment is not required before every measurement. We recommend performing one in the following situations:
Before starting a new series of measurements to verify that the device is measuring correctly.
If a check measurement with distilled or deionized water is outside the specified accuracy.
After thoroughly cleaning the prism, especially if stubborn residues were present.
If you notice unexpected or implausible measurement results.
