With the Lab Meister mobile app, you can calculate the extraction yield of your coffee. Depending on the brewing method, you can choose between percolation, immersion, or mixed-phase calculation.
Which calculation method should I choose?
Espresso (Percolation method or drip coffee):
This method can be used for brews where water is poured over the coffee grounds to extract the dissolved solids. Chemex, Batch Brewers, V60, Espresso, Moka Pot, and Kalita Wave fall into this category.
French Press (Immersion method):
This brewing method is most commonly used. Water and ground coffee are just mixed together. Examples of this brewing method include French press and Cupping.
Aeropress (Mixed-Phase):
If your coffee method is so to say a mix of percolation and immersion you can use the mixed phase extraction yield calculation. Brew methods in this category are the Siphon, Clever Dripper, and Aeropress.
At Tools in the Lab Meister mobile app, you can find the calculators to determine the extraction yield of your coffee. The %TDS can be either entered or selected from a batch.
